Along with Kennewick and Richland, which lie on the opposite side of the Columbia River, Pasco constitutes one of the Tri Cities. The city sits at the confluence of the Columbia, Yakima, and Snake rivers. Originally founded as a railroad town in the 1800's, Pasco is the county seat of Franklin County.
