Coupeville

Coupeville, a quiet waterfront farming community on scenic Whidbey Island, was established in 1852, making it the second oldest town in the state.

Only three old blockhouses built to defend Puget Sound and settler's homes from the Coast Salish Indians can be visited.

West of town is Madrona Drive, a 4-mile scenic route that winds along the shore of Penn Cove.
