Auburn

Auburn is located in King County in the southern Puget Sound area of western Washington between Seattle and Tacoma. It lies at the south end of Highway 18, in the Green River Valley.

Originally settled in 1855, the town was plotted in 1886. The community was incorporated in 1891.

One half mile east of Exit 142B from Interstate 5 is the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection, a one-acre facility housing more than 50 bonsai trees from around the world, some of them more than 500 years old. Other points of interest are nearby Mount Rainier National Park and a state salmon hatchery.

Auburn's location provides access to a wide variety of outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, boating, and other water sports. The Auburn area is also graced with 26 parks, three 18-hole golf courses, and a system of trails for jogging, horseback riding, bicycling and roller blading.
