Northeastern Region

Fur trappers once roamed the Northeastern region of Utah. The valley here was named "Cache" by these early mountain men. The name is a French word that means to "store one's treasures."

The region offers such treasures as Bear Lake, beaches, biking, boating and mountains ribboned with streams. When it snows, visitors enjoy snowmobiling and skiing.

Other attractions include the American West Heritage Center, fly-fishing on the picturesque Logan River, hiking one of the many trails through fields of wildflowers, or taking a tasting tour to one of Cache Valley's many food factories to sample cheese, cookies, honey, chocolates and Utah State University's famous "Aggie Ice Cream"!
