Manchester is located in Coffee County (of which it is the county seat) southeast of Nashville along Interstate 24 near Old Stone Fort State Park and Arnold Engineering Development Center USAF. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 8,707, an increase of 998 since 1990.
