Eastern Region

Two of South Carolina's official tourism regions comprise the state's Eastern area: the Pee Dee Region and Myrtle Beach/ Grand Strand. The Pee Dee River flows through the Pee Dee Region and provides a beautiful scenic backdrop to abundant recreation. Other attractions here include historic architecture, an agricultural lifestyle, and stockcar racing.

The Myrtle Beach & Grand Strand Region, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the U. S., stretches 60 miles from Little River to Georgetown. In addition to Myrtle Beach, there are other cities that add variety to the list of things to do in the area: stroll the historic streets of Georgetown or eat the famous seafood at Murrells Inlet. Though the beaches are the main attraction, others include excellent golf courses, water and amusement parks, and canoe & kayak expeditions.
