Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is located in Horry County northeast of Charleston. It is situated between Surfside Beach and North Myrtle Beach, along U.S. Highway 17 near the Intracoastal Waterway.

Myrtle Beach is in the center of the Grand Strand, a 60-mile crescent of beach on the South Carolina coast. The Atlantic Ocean is the number one attraction of the area, drawing repeat visitors. The year-round resort features numerous hotels, more than 100 golf courses, live entertainment theaters and 1,650 dining choices. Among historic places to visit is the South Carolina Hall of Fame, which honors citizens who have made outstanding contributions to South Carolina s heritage.

Myrtle Beach International Airport serves as the commercial hub for the Grand Strand. The Veterans Highway connects Highway 501 Highway 17, just north of Myrtle Beach. On the Grand Strand, Ocean Boulevard and Kings Highway run north and south, parallel to the Atlantic Ocean.
