Chapin is located in Lexington County between White Rock and Little Mountain along Highway 76 near Lake Murray. Chapin is a very small community west of Columbia.

Chapin is located in the Midlands, halfway between the mountains and the sea, in the heart of the Dutch Fork and at the northern shores of beautiful Lake Murray. Chapin is served by the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, just 22 miles east on I-26, take Exit 113.

A temperate climate typifies the Chapin area. Long summers are the norm, with warm weather usually extending from May through September. Winters are mild, with the coldest weather occurring in the months from late November through mid-March. During these months, one or two snowfalls are likely.
