Saskatchewan

The province of Saskatchewan is the agricultural heartland of the Canadian prairies. Its principal cities are Regina, the provincial capital, and Saskatoon, home of the University. Saskatchewan is a province in western Canada, between Alberta on the west and Manitoba on the east, and between the Northwest Territories on the north and the states of Montana and North Dakota on the south. Saskatchewan is the agricultural heartland of the Canadian prairies.

The province was created in 1905 from the sparsely populated Northwest Territories to the north. The 251,366 square miles of Saskatchewan offers almost four square miles of space per person, where the major industries are agriculture and mining. Saskatchewan’s major cities include the capital, Regina, and the most populous, Saskatoon, the only cities with a population exceeding 150,000.
