Hershey

Hershey is located in Dauphin County just east of Harrisburg between Hummelstown and Palmyra along Highway 422 near the Susquehanna River.

The town is known as "the sweetest place on earth," due, of course, to the famous Hershey chocolate.

In the early 1900s, Milton S. Hershey opened the world's first modern chocolate factory here, and built a "model town" to provide a home for employees and their families. In 1907, Hershey Park was opened, and later, Zooamerica North American Wildlife Park.

Hershey is also home of Pennsylvania State University's College of Medicine.

Hershey is part of the Harrisburg-Lebanon-Carlisle metro area.
