Yachats

Yachats is a small community (pop. 700) on the Oregon Coast known for its romantic getaways and extraordinary fall runs of smelt: small, silvery fish that can be havested with a net and long pole.

The Yachats River is a popular spot for salmon and steelhead fishing, while local restaurants and hotels often boast spectacular ocean views between the fog banks.

Just south of town is Cape Perpetua, the second-highest point on the Oregon coast. Yachats is situated at the southern end of Lincoln County. It lies between Waldport to the north and Florence, 26 miles to the south, by way of one of the most-scenic stretches of Highway 101.
