Welcome to the Bonosearch page for Tourism in Gold Beach, Oregon, Tourism, Oregon
Gold Beach is located in Curry County (of which is the county seat), north of Brookings, between Pistol River and Ophir. Positioned along Highway 101 and the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of the Rogue River.
This small community is named for the placer mining prevalent until an 1861 flood swept the deposits out to sea. Gold Beach is a gateway for many Outdoor Activities in this popular coastal and river recreation area. Golf year-round at Cedar Bend, a beautiful course located in a scenic valley, or test your skill at miniature golf. Take an exhilarating jet boat trip up the river through the narrow canyons and swift rapids of the wild and scenic section of the Rogue, or experience wind surfing on one of the West's most breathtaking and breezy stretches of shoreline (not advised for beginners). Fishing (salmon & steelhead, sturgeon) is also a major draw, on the ocean, Rogue River and many other nearby coastal rivers.
