Dallas is located in Polk County, lies west of Salem, between Rickreall and and Falls City, off of Hwy 223.
This county-seat community was settled in the 1840s and incorporated in 1874, Dallas was named for George Mifflin Dallas, U.S. vice-president under James K. Polk. The town features many historic buildings, the Delbert Hunter Arboretum, and the Botanic Garden, which features native plants. Dallas also offers easy access to the mountains, Pacific Ocean, major cities and an international airport.
