Windsor

The most southerly major city in Canada, Windsor is one of the country's major manufacturing centers. Its mild climate also allows for rich orchards and farmland in the surrounding countryside. It is the busiest point of entry along the border with the United States and is linked to Detroit by both tunnel and bridge. The Peace Fountain, floating in the Detroit River, is one of the largest floating fountains in North America. It is a symbol of the city's peaceful ties to the United States. Windsor hosts the International Freedom Festival in late June to early July, which jointly celebrates Canada Day on July 1 and U.S. Independence Day.
