Wasaga Beach

Vacationers are drawn to the 14km(9mi) of sandy beaches along Georgian Bay, believed to be one of the world's longest freshwater beaches. Visitors enjoy swimming and hiking in the summer, and winter activities include snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Wasaga Beach was once a vital supply route during the War of 1812 and a transportation route on the Nine Mile Portage canoe route.
