Sandusky

Sandusky, with over 22 miles of shoreline within the city limits, is located in northwestern Ohio in Erie County (of which it is the county seat) 45 miles southeast of Toledo. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 28,223, a decrease of 1,541 since 1990.

Nearby attractions include outings to Cedar Point Amusement Park 5 miles north of town on a spit at the Sandusky Bay/Lake Erie interflow.

The city is known for its active summer schedule of events including "Rock on the Dock", a weekly "happening" among young adults (and the young at heart), the Tall Ships Festival featuring 3-masted schooners of olden days and the Bay Days Freedom Festival held Labor Day weekend.

Woussickett Golf Course offers golfers 18 holes of public golf while Plum Brook Country Club, built in 1914, has a guest policy allowing members of other clubs to shoot 18 with them. Keys Public Course and Mills Creek Golf Course are public 9-hole outlets.

Museum buffs will enjoy Follett House Museum and the Merry-Go-Round Museum.
