Put-in-Bay

Put-in-Bay is located on South Bass Island on Lake Erie's western end and is considered to be part of Ottawa County.

The town and island are best known for Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial which is a "must see" for every island visitor. The third tallest memorial in the United States commemorates Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's capture of a British squadron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. The results of the battle provided an important morale boost to the young country's forces and was the impetus for the eventual outcome of the war.

For golfers, the town sports the executive-style Saunders Golf Course, a little 9-holer with a par of 30.
