Cincinnati

Cincinnati is located in southwestern Ohio in Hamilton County and is the county seat. It lies on the banks of the Ohio River and is midway between the river's source at Pittsburgh, PA, and Cairo, IL, where it empties into the Mississippi River.

Cincinnati was named for the Society of Cincinnati, a fraternity of officers who served in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. German immigrants moved to Cincinnati in the 1830s and the city played a major role in the Underground Railroad as runaway slaves escaped to freedom.

Greater Cincinnati is home to nearly two million people. More than 370 Fortune 500 firms enjoy a presence in the city. The metropolitan area is home to the University of Cincinnati, the first municipal university in the United States; the world famous Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Newport Aquarium, one of Cincinnati's most popular attractions.

Golfers can choose from over 30 courses in the area including public 18-holers Indian Valley Golf Course and Vineyard Golf Course.
