Hampton Beach

Hampton Beach is located in Rockingham County in the southeastern part of the state along the Atlantic Ocean on Highway 1A near Hampton. Hampton Beach occupies three miles of shoreline, from Rye to the Hampton River, and is a delicate curve whose graceful sweep is boldly broken by a spray-laced promontory known as 'Great Boar's Head'.

Hampton Beach is part of the Portsmouth-Rochester metro area.

Visit the New Hampshire Marine Memorial, across from the Ashworth by the Sea Hotel, which was dedicated on Memorial Day in 1957 in honor of all New Hampshire sons and daughters who were lost or buried at sea during World War II. From its six-foot base, the statue stands 12 feet tall and bears 10 columns originally totalling 248 names with the state seal at each end.

Other nearby attractions include: Rye Habor State Park, Strawberry Banke Museum, shopping in Portsmouth, the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and Hampton Beach State Park.
