Prairie Lakes Region, Nebraska, Shopping
When Stephen Long first visited the Prairie Lakes Region of Nebraska in 1820, he called it the Great American Desert. Today, however, numerous man-made lakes and huge reservoirs dot the grassy plains of the area.
Also in the region are historic homes and sites, such as The Buffalo Bill State Historical Park near North Platte.
