Harbor Springs

Harbor Springs is in Emmet County, and in the Northern Region. This community is located northeast of Traverse City between Petoskey and Cross Village along Highway 119 near Little Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan.

Incorporated as a village in 1881 and as a city in 1932, Harbor Springs has a rich history, from the Ottawa Indians who first lived here to the Jesuit Mission established here in 1742.

With a natural harbor and plenty of boat slips near the downtown area, this is a favorite location for those sailing the waters of Lake Michigan.
