Crystal Falls

Crystal Falls is in Iron County (of which it is the county seat), and in the Northern Region. This community is located at the junction of State Hwy 69 and US Hwy 2 north of Iron Mountain.

This area was first settled in 1846 as part of Marquette County when explorers found rich deposits of iron ore near the Paint River.

Crystal Falls' primary economic support comes from lumber and paper products processing and tourism. This beautiful town is situated on a hill-top sloping eastward from a muraculous courthouse at the top of the hill facing east, with the Paint River in perfect view at the bottom.
