Adrian

Adrian is in Lenawee County, and in the Southeast Region (of which it is the county seat). Adrian is located southwest of Detroit along Highway 52 on the banks of the Raisin River near the Ohio state line and Lake Erie.

Adrian is part of the Ann Arbor, Michigan metro area.

Adrian was first settled in 1826 by Addison J. Comstock, a settler from New York who named the town Logan. It was officially setteled as a village in 1836. In 1838, Comstocks wife persuaded him to rename it after Roman Emperor Hadrian, her hero. After approval by the Michigan Legislature, it was renamed Adrian. It was eventually organized as a city in 1853.
