Hutchinson

Founded: 1871, Pop.:City of Hutchinson - 40,787, City of South Hutchinson - 2,539 and Reno County: 64,790.

Located in the South Central Region of the state, in Reno County (County Seat), northwest of Wichita. Three highways intersect the city: US 50, Kansas 61 (K-61) and Kansas 96 (K-96). Amtrak passenger service is also available with daily trains to Chicago and Los Angeles. Hutchinson is on the banks of the Arkansas River near Sand Hills State Park.

At the outlet of a great corn and wheat raising district, and has one of the largest salt works in the world. Hutchinson is a city of active, wide awake business men, with excellent railroad facilities, fine hotels, extensive manufacturing and jobbing interests, shady streets, beautiful buildings, and plenty of automobiles.

Hutchinson has a municipal airport, but commercial flights are out of Wichita Wichita Mid-Continent Airport 50 miles away.
