Post Falls
Situated in ykootenai, west of Coeur d'Alene on I-90, Post Falls was founded by Frederick Post, a German immigrant who came to the area in 1871 and recognizing the potential of the water power at the falls, began construction of a sawmill. In the early 1900s, the Washington Water Power Company harnessed the power of the falls and built a dam and power station along the channels of the river.
The city is within easy driving distance of both Coeur d'Alene and Spokane. Its population is nearly 10,000.
