Newnan

Newnan is located in Coweta County, of which it is the county seat, southwest of Atlanta along Highway 27 near the Chattahoochee River in the Southern Rivers Region of the state. Newnan is part of the Atlanta, Georgia metro area.

It was named after Gen. Daniel Newnan. It was once a major cotton-shipping center. It was the filming location for the 1990s TV show, "I'll Fly Away".
