Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach is located in Broward County north of Miami between Deerfield Beach and Fort Lauderdale along Highway A1A near the Atlantic seacoast. Pompano Beach is part of the Fort Lauderdale, Florida metro area.

Pompano began as a farming and fishing community and retains its name from the areas popular ocean fish.

An off-shore reef is a popular location for snorkeling, diving and fishing a like. Anglers and families flock to the 1,800-foot long municipal fishing pier, beachside playgrounds, grills and picnic tables to test their luck at personally landing the title, "swordfish capital of the world" and perhaps dining on the prize.

The Hillsboro Lighthouse can be easily spotted from Pompano's many roadways and paths along 3.5 miles of beautiful beachfront.
