Homestead

Homestead is located in Miami-Dade County south of Miami between Coral Gables and Florida City along Highway 997 near Biscayne Bay and the Florida Everglades.

Homestead/Florida City, made famous after being hit by 1992's devastating Hurricane Andrew, is the hub of the area defined as Tropical South Florida. The region is proud of its rebuilding efforts, with the communities back better than ever before.

To the east and south of Homestead, the spectacular living coral reef awaits snorklers and divers in Biscayne National Park, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Over 600 varieties of fish inhabit the waters of the coral reef, along with brightly-colored coral formations. This outdoor paradise is also justifiably famous for world-class fishing.

There is also a Homestead, Iowa.

Homestead is part of the Miami, Florida metro area.
