Daytona Beach Shores

Daytona Beach Shores is located in Volusia County just south of Daytona Beach between Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach along Highway 1 near Ponce de Leon Inlet and the Atlantic seacoast. Daytona Beach Shores is part of the Daytona Beach, Florida metro area.

Daytona Beach Shores was first platted in 1960 by local business leaders convinced that a smaller community could provide better services to its residents. The City was incorporated on April 22, 1960.

Just 5.5 miles long and a few hundred yards wide, Daytona Beach Shores features a pristine beach where famed race car drivers once vied to set world speed records.

A resort and retirement community, the City has no schools or manufacturing industry, but caters to tourists year-round with miniature golf courses and other family entertainment, including a private par 3 golf course and tennis club.
