Avon

Avon is located in Hartford County north of New Britain between Canton and East Hartford along Highway 202 near the Farmington River. A town in north central Connecticut, west of Hartford.

Founded in 1645, Avon, CT was originally named Northington or the North Parish of Farmington. The town was incorporated in 1830 and got its name from the Avon River in England.
