Telluride

This charming and historic mountain town features some of the world's most exciting scenery and skiing at an elevation of nearly 9000 feet at the base of the San Juan Mountains.

The Telluride Ski Area has added new facilities which include an 800-vertical-foot snowboard park, and Air Garden. Nearby Bridal Veil Creek, the headwaters of the San Miguel River, drops 425-feet over Bridal Veil Falls, Colorado's largest waterfalls. Visitors can hike or bike to the top and trails lead to other high-altitude lakes and waterfalls.

In Telluride, Town Park features fishing ponds and picnic areas, and the San Miguel River Trail begins here as well. The city has been a National Historic Landmark since 1964.

The annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival draws national acts to the outdoor amphitheater.
