Grand Lake

Visitors have been drawn to the Grand Lake area for its outstanding mountain scenery, warm summer temperatures and abundant wildlife long before it became the resort community that it is today. The site of the largest natural lake in Colorado, the town also serves as the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Outdoor recreation is plentiful at the many beaches, footpaths, parks, rustic summer cabins and lodges can all be found along the lake's shoreline. Downtown Grand Lake offers casual mountain ambiance, along with wooden boardwalks and "Old West" storefronts. Nearby, visitors will enjoy the lands of the Arapaho National Forest, where free ranger-hosted lectures and field trips are offered during the summer.
