Los Angeles County

LA County is huge. It contains 4000 square miles, enough to qualify as a state on the East Coast, its county seat is the nation's second largest city, and its population of some nine million is greater than 43 of the 50 states.

For many, Los Angeles is synonymous with Hollywood, a district of Los Angeles. Cecil B de Mille began filming movies in Los Angeles in 1913, and Beverly Hills became famous for the movie stars who made it their home.
