Palm Springs

Palm Springs is located in Riverside County southeast of San Bernadino between Banning and Palm Desert along Highway 111 near the San Bernadino and Joshua Tree national forests.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 43,942, an increase of 3,798 since 1990.

Palm Springs is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino, California metro area.

It received national attention for the 1988 election of entertainer Sonny Bono as mayor and was the filming location for the 1963 movie, "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World".
