Napa

Napa was named after the Wappo Indian tribe who were the original inhabitants of Napa Valley. By 1830, settlers began farming the rich, fertile soils bordering the Napa River. Visitors to Napa enjoy hot air ballooning, museums, art galleries, bicycling tours, glider rides, spas, and world-class golfing, lodging and dining. Napa offers several fine outlet-shopping stores. And, of course there are the wineries that are synonomous with Napa.

The largest town and county seat of Napa County, Napa sits as the gateway to the Napa Valley and the county's famous wine country.

Napa is part of the Vallejo-Fairfield-Napa, California metro area.
