Morro Bay

Morro Bay, California is a working fishing village located in the central coastal region of California. Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the first western European to set foot in California, named the towns famous landmark, Morro Rock, when he first charted this coast during his 16th Century voyage of discovery. Besides being a fishing village, the town is known as a pleasant tourist destination that has very mild weather all year long.

Morro Bay was named after Morro Rock. The town, NE of San Luis Obispo on Highway 1 is home to a substantial commercial fishing fleet.
