Hopland

Hopland is located in Mendocino County north of Santa Rosa between Ukiah and Healdsburg along US Highway 101 on the banks of the Russian River near Clear Lake and Lake Mendocino.

Hopland's main source of pride comes from producing some of the finest wine and beer in the nation. Hopland has fine restaurants, art galleries, antique stores and the lovely Russian River is located just nearby.

Prior to 1850, when the white settlers arrived, the Pomo Indians inhabited this valley. In 1844, Fernando Feliz received a Mexican land grant of the Sanel Township. The name 'Hopland' was derived from the many hops that were grown here for the production of beer.
