New Westminster

Known as the "Royal City", New Westminster was British Columbia's first capital, and is western Canada's oldest city. Its modern waterfront is an interesting contrast to the city's core of historic brick buildings. You can take the SkyTrain to view the scenic link between Vancouver and New Westminster. Attractions include the New Westminster Museum, Westminster Quay, the Public Market and an esplanade along the Fraser River where you can watch the bustle of tugs and other boats. Here, the "Samson V" paddlewheeler and maritime museum can be found. "The Native", a 92-ft steam-driven paddlewheeler runs past islands, float-home communities and fishing boats along the route to the restored Hudson's Bay trading post at Fort Langley.

There are more than a dozen Cities in Metropolitan Vancouver BC.
