Lone Butte, British Columbia, Hotel
Welcome to the Bonosearch page for Hotel in Lone Butte, British Columbia, Hotel, British Columbia
About 10 km/6 mi east of Highway 97 on Highway 24 in Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, Lone Butte was once the largest town in the Cariboo and a busy centre for the ranchers who settled from the early 1900s to the 1950s. The water tower, one of the last of its kind in BC, serviced the Pacific Great Eastern Railway steam engines that took the cattle to market.
The town's name derives from the plug of an ancient volcano. This 250-foot high butte can be climbed for a wonderful view of the surrounding area.
