Kelowna

Located at the junction of Highway 97 and Highway 33, Kelowna is the Okanagan Similkameen's largest city. It offers a variety of recreational activities and attractions. Visitors can enjoy sandy beaches and warm waters, or go winery-hopping to sample some of Canada's finest wines; then take a dinner cruise on the M.V. Fintry Queen, a restored paddlewheeler. Other attractions include the Father Pandosy Mission, Guisachan Heritage Park, Benvoulin Heritage Church, and the Orchard Industry Museum.

Kelowna was incorporated in 1905 and experienced moderate growth through the two world wars. Population surged after the opening of the Okanagan Lake Bridge in 1958, and growth has further increased since the opening of the Coquihalla Connector.
