Kamloops

Its name derived from a Shuswap Indian word meaning "meeting place", Kamloops lies at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers, and at the junction of three major highways (Highway 1 (The Transcanada Highway), Yellowhead Highway 5 and Highway 97) and two railroads, Canadian National Railways and Canadian Pacific Railway. Kamloops offers something for everyone during over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year. Golfing is one of the sports of choice for visitors who can play at five different 18-hole courses, all within 10-15 minute drives of town.

Known as "The Tournament Capital", Kamloops hosts many high profile sporting events. Kamloops offers downtown & riverside restaurants, sports facilities and music performances. Just north of city are miles of ginseng crops.

Kamloops has a surpassed 70,000 population and continues to grow rapidly.
