Duncan

Located on Highway 1 (The Transcanada Highway), Duncan is known as the City of Totems. At least 22 totems line the highway, and downtown the works of local native carvers are displayed. Books on local history, and period memorabelia can be found at the Cowichan Valley Museum, open Monday through Saturday in June through September. The town, considered the primary business center of the Cowichan Valley, has a population of approximately 4,500.
