Established during the gold rush of 1898, Atlin acquired a world wide reputation by the 1920's. Located at British Columbia's largest natural lake, it became a destination for elite travellers who arrived aboard the M.V. Tarahne (which now rests on the lake shore) providing daily tours.

Walking and hiking are popular here, as are gold nugget jewelry, arts, and crafts. Amenities include modern accomodations, restaurants, stores & other services.
