Western Region

In the Western Region of Arizona, the longest stretch of white-water anywhere in America, the Colorado River runs about three hundred miles... from Hoover Dam to Mexico. Adventures here include rafting, sailing, skiing, fishing, swimming and camping. You can hike to the water at Lake Mead - the largest man-made body of water in the world, or enjoy it from a boat.

Out of the water, you can mine for gold at famous ghost towns, stroll across the London Bridge, or go rockhunting. Worthwhile stops include the Yuma Territorial Prison and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument where beautiful desert flora and fauna abound.
