Ninilchik

Ninilchik is located in Kenai Peninsula Borough near Cook Inlet on the west coast of the Kenai Peninsula. Ninilchik extends from the state recreation area in the north to Deep Creek in the south. The original Russian fur trading village is reached by a side road from Mile 135.1 off the Sterling Hwy.

The town is famous for fresh and salt water fishing. The main livelihood comes from commercial fishing, tourism, and sportfishing.

The "Biggest Little Fair in Alaska", the Kenai Peninsula State Fair is held annually in August. Visit the historic Transifguration of Our Lord Chapel and cemetery, which overlook the entire rustic village of Ninilchik.
