Auke Bay is located in Juneau Borough. Auke Bay is a waterfront area on Glacier Hwy about 12 miles northwest of downtown Juneau. It is located at the terminus of the Mendenhall Glacier, which flows into Mendenhall Lake just north of the peninsula.

It is the site of a small boat harbor and a USFS campground. The Auke Village Recreation area is next to the Auke Bay Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal and is the site of a totem pole and campground.

Although it is part of the Juneau metro area, it has its own post office.
