Anchor Point is located in Kenai Peninsula Borough at Mile 156.7 Sterling Hwy between Ninilchik and Homer on the Cook Inlet where the Anchor River flows into the sea. The Anchor River Beach Rd joins the Sterling Hwy at Mile 156.9. It is also the Old Sterling Hwy Rd.
The road deadends at the most westerly point in North America that can be reached by a continuous road system. The area is famous for its king and silver salmon, steelhead and rainbow trout fishing.
Visitor information is provided by senior citizens at the log cabin at the junction of Sterling Hwy and Old Sterling Hwy. It is open 10am to 4pm weekdays Memorial Day to Labor Day.
