Decatur

The industrial city of Decatur is found along the banks of the Tennessee River in Morgan County (North Region), putting it in the in the Huntsville, Alabama metropolitan area. This location was the perfect place to be the filming location for the film "Tom and Huck" which was released in 1995.

The city prides itself in the historic sites it provides to the community. Some of these are the Old State Bank Museum, and the Cook's Natural Science Museum. The Wheeler Basin Regional Library is also located in the area. These are a perfect place for students to find out all the information they need for all projects and research materials.
The Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and the Point Mallard Park are excellent places to go when visiting the area to see what the area has to offer the community. The park has a variety of walking paths and plenty of playgrounds with picnic tables.
